Preparation Guide

A little preparation can make a big difference. Clean, tidy and uncluttered spaces tend to look more appealing to prospective buyers and help show your property at its best, but these suggestions are entirely optional.
General Preparation
Give rooms a general clean and tidy.
Clean windows, mirrors and other glass surfaces.
Check that all lightbulbs are working.
Put away paperwork, personal information and valuables.
Remove personal photographs where possible. Faces in photographs displayed around the home can be blurred in still images, but may remain visible in video footage.
Kitchen
Clear worktops of washing-up items, cleaning products and unnecessary appliances.
Remove fridge magnets, notes and photographs.
Put away bins, tea towels and other clutter.
Bathrooms
Remove toiletries, toothbrushes and cleaning products.
Arrange fresh towels neatly.
Close toilet lids and straighten toilet rolls, ideally leaving them at least half full.
Clean mirrors, shower screens and taps.
Bedrooms
Make beds neatly and straighten pillows.
Put away clothes, shoes and personal belongings.
Clear bedside tables and hide anything stored beneath beds.
Living & Dining Areas
Straighten cushions, throws and furniture.
Hide loose cables, remote controls and paperwork.
Clear tables and surfaces of unnecessary items.
Gardens & Outdoor Areas
Mow lawns, sweep paths and tidy garden areas.
Arrange outdoor furniture and uncover it where appropriate.
Move bins, bicycles and vehicles away from the property where possible.
Just Before the Shoot
Open curtains and blinds to let in natural light.
Keep pets somewhere safe and comfortable.
Ensure all areas being photographed are accessible.
Holiday Lets & Guest Accommodation
A few extra touches can help capture the atmosphere and guest experience:
Prepare beds, towels and rooms as you would for arriving guests.
Consider fresh flowers, a welcome tray or other thoughtful details.
Arrange outdoor seating and prepare special amenities such as hot tubs or dining areas.
